Demodex Trial

Research Study Spotlight

Vision Source Eyecare is enrolling patients to participate in a clinical trial that aims to understand real-world experiences among Demodex blepharitis patients with soft contact lens intolerance.

Clinical Research Study

Demodex infestation in the hair follicles of the eyelashes causes blockage of oil glands leading to dryness, inflammation, sensations mimicking that of a foreign body, etc1. The resulting discomfort and irritation often cause soft contact lens wearers to experience intolerances to the medical device 1. Participants will be tasked with completing various surveys to help collect data about their symptoms and treatment burdens.

Enrollment for this observational study is now open! If you or someone you know wears soft contact lenses and has recently been diagnosed with Demodex blepharitis, reach out to our Research Team for more information. Patients who meet the inclusion criteria will be eligible for compensation.

Study Overview:

  • Patients 18 years or older who currently wear soft contact lenses

  • 4 visits over 6 months

  • Up to $585 in compensation
